Green Beans Almondine

Fresh green beans transformed into an elegant side dish that are perfect to serve for holidays or special guests.  To kick it up the flavor profile a notch you can add sliced mushrooms or crumbled and cooked bacon to saute pan to really wow your guests.

Yields: 10 servings

Directions:

  1. Split beans lengthwise.
  2. Cook beans in boiling water to cover in a Dutch oven 4 minutes or until tender; drain.
  3. Mix cornstarch with lemon juice. Set aside
  4. Melt butter in saute pan; add almonds, beans, lemon juice with cornstarch, salt, and pepper, tossing to coat.
  5. Serve immediately.
