Matcha Tahini Latte
There’s a serious matcha movement happening, and I am in full support. Matcha is praised for providing a sustained energy boost, a wealth of antioxidants, and for providing a “calm-alertness” thanks to the amino acid L-Theanine. Though there’s something beautifully simplistic about the matcha latte in its unembellished state, this recipe takes it one step further and adds my favorite “liquid gold” to the mix. Tahini adds warm depth of flavor and a silky mouthfeel that classic latte lovers will appreciate. If you don’t have Tahini paste use Almond Butter. I recommend using almond milk as opposed to water, as the subtle sweetness rounds out the earthiness of matcha.
Bring all ingredients to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium, stirring often. Pour into 2 mugs.
