Slow Cooker or Instant Pot Chocolate Oatmeal

This Chocolate Oatmeal is a mouth-watering recipe the whole family will love! Made with 100% clean ingredients, this tasty breakfast treat will warm the insides and fill the belly, without unhealthy added ingredients.  These overnight oats will cook while you sleep and have you waking up to the smell of chocolate.
Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 c. steel-cut or rolled oats (not instant)
  • 6 c. water
  • 1 c. unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 4 T. cocoa powder
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar, pure maple syrup, honey or agave

Directions for Instant Pot:

  1. In your 6 quart Instant Pot, spray your Instant Pot bowl with cooking spray and pour in all the ingredients giving it a quick stir.
  2. Set your Instant Pot to “Slow Cooker” mode for on medium heat and set for 6 hours.
  3. At the end of 6 hours, your Instant Pot will automatically got to “Keep Warm”. (most Instant Pots do this but check with yours)
  4. In the morning, open the lid, give it all a stir and enjoy!
  5. Top with cocoa nibs, a dollop of Greek Yogurt, sliced Strawberries or bananas or unsweetened almond milk

Directions for Slow Cooker:

  1. Spray the inside of your Slow Cooker with cooking spray.  Pour in all the ingredients and give it a quick stir.
  2. Slow Cooker on low heat for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  3. In the morning, open the lid, give it all a stir and enjoy!
  4. Top with cocoa nibs, a dollop of Greek Yogurt, sliced Strawberries or bananas or unsweetened almond milk.
